Jacqui Beadies necklace, Fingerprints in Uganda
These wonderful, colourful necklaces are made in Uganda by Jacqui Beadies, who explains: “I and my family hand roll long triangles of colourful recycled paper, glue the end, dip in resin, and drape strings of them over the washing line attached to the bougainvillea bush in our front garden.” The colours and variety make each one unique and every time I wear mine I think of the hours of care taken to create it. Jacqui is supported by Tim and Susannah Hills, who set up the charity Fingerprints in Uganda to help children and families.
